Rust is Facepunch Studios' brutal multiplayer survival game: gathering resources, building bases, raiding and the constant threat of other players. Servers are wiped regularly and everything starts over, so what holds value is less the resources than the game itself, an account with a good history, and cosmetics that stay with you for good.

On PC it is sold through Steam, so this section trades keys and gifts, Steam accounts that own Rust, skins from the Steam inventory and time-limited account rentals.

What to look at when buying. For accounts, hours played and the absence of a VAC ban or game ban: many servers turn away newcomers and accounts with a ban on record. Ask whether the original email is included. For skins, Steam's trading rules: without the mobile authenticator, trades are held. For keys and gifts, the region: a copy for another region may not activate. For rentals, the period, the usage rules and how the seller provides the Steam Guard code. Also remember that Steam's rules forbid account transfers.

Deals run through the marketplace: payment is held by the site until receipt is confirmed. Keys with Auto-delivery appear on the deal page right after payment. If there is a problem, open a dispute before confirming, and an optional guarantee package can be added to an account purchase.

Tip: before paying, open the Steam profile from the listing or ask the seller for it. Ban notices and hours played are visible there at a glance.
