Soundcloud

SoundCloud is a music platform founded in Stockholm and run from Berlin. Unlike traditional streaming services, anyone can upload tracks here, so releases by well-known artists sit next to demos from up-and-coming musicians, remixes, DJ sets and podcasts. You can listen in a browser and in the mobile apps for Android and iOS. The free version shows ads and limits part of the catalogue, while paid listener plans such as Go and Go+ remove the ads and add offline listening. Creators have separate plans with deeper stats and promotion tools.

In the SoundCloud section of the marketplace, people buy Subscriptions, meaning a paid plan connected to your profile or ready-made access, Accounts with an active subscription or an established page, and Services, for example help paying for a plan when you do not have a suitable payment method.

Before buying, find out exactly which plan you are getting, a listener plan or a creator plan, and for how long. Ask whether it will be set up on your own account or come as a separate account, and which country the subscription is registered in, since that can affect the catalogue. If the seller needs to sign in to your profile, ask in advance which details are required.

The money is held by the marketplace until you have checked that the plan works and confirmed receipt. If the subscription is not connected or differs from the description, open a dispute before confirming and a moderator will go through the deal chat. An optional guarantee package is available for accounts. Tip: once you have access, open the subscription settings and check the plan name and renewal date.
